Magyar Nemzet was founded in 1938 by Sandor Petho and is currently both a print and online publication. Owned by KESMA, it is led and edited by Attila Ballai. The paper shut down in 2018 and was reinstated in 2019. It has a heavy right-wing, conservative view in its reporting and speaks out openly against the left-wing media of Hungary. Nemzet considers Nepszabadsag to be a rival newspaper.
